Vit D - Take in the *morning ONLY*

Vitamin D resets your Circadian rhythm just as effectively as Melatonin.

If you take it only in the morning, you will experience greatly increased energy during the day, and better sleep at night.

JB, I found your vitamin D post very interesting. As a martial artist - a depressed one at that (vitamin D is said to alleviate depression)! - I find vitamin D a useful substance to have around! In fact, since start martial arts (crack for the body!) and subsequently beginning vitamin D I’ve a sense of my muscular-skeletal system being much more resilient and strong.

I have never been particular, however, as to when I take it during the day. Based on your recommendations, and the supporting material (most of which was well over my head, so I’ll make a leap of faith), I will begin a 30 day trial of taking 600 IU in the morning.

Next question; Does it matter if I am taking other supplements at the same time, or taking food with it? I ask because it seems back in the misty past, or perhaps just last week, someone had suggested to me vitamin D is best taken alone.

Anyhow, thanks for an interesting post.

You should notice half results in 1 day, full results in 2 days. It won’t take 30.

Food doesn’t matter. Most supplements don’t matter. I recommend taking calcium with Vit-D, in the same pill. If you’re magnesium deficient, take some of that too.

The fat soluble vitamins can interact with each other. I’d avoid taking A and E together with D.

Supplements are just that. Diet is primary. If I were depressed, I’d start by cutting to the elimination diet my site describes. But I’d also include Vit D, which is not so much a supplement as a replacement for missing sunlight.

In your case, I hope that D alone will be enough to fix the depression. Be aware that many food intolerances can create depression unrelated to sunlight.
